AN INTERNATIONAL CREATION OF THE MISS CÔTE D'OPALE COMMITEE under the pretence of the Miss Côte d'Opale Artois Lille Métropole Haut de France Côte Picarde Baie de Somme Comté d'Eu and Euro Pays Pévélois Commitee.

The international Miss EUROREGION competition is born in 1999 on the initiative of the Miss Côte d'Opale commitee and of his Founding President Claude Pasbecq, who has been building his experience for 30 years in the world of miss. One evening, during an election in Le Touquet, Léon Zitrone, the great reporter of french TV, Honorary President of the commitee at that time, launched the creation of an international beauty contest grouping the Channel borderlands together. A great idea for the representatives of the commitee, who always care about the way they can give a new breath to beauty contests.

Standing by their purpose to promote the Côte d'Opale area economically, culturally and artistically, Claude Pasbecq and his team create the Miss EUROREGION contest.

Several meetings through out the different countries and the organisation of a european competition every year result in the consolidation of the friendship among the commitee's representatives.

The first Miss EUROREGION final took place at Villeneuve d'Ascq, in the North of France. 12 girls from France and Great Britain were in the competition. Then Belgium and Wales joined the organisation. The craze was so strong that nothing could stop it. With Italy, Portugal, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, the Miss EUROREGION final welcome 40 girls every year.
